Hydroelectricity

In Hastings, Minnesota, the Mississippi River will be gaining a hydrokinetic power plant. This is the commercial undertaking of its kind in the United States. Rather than relying on damn construction or altering the flow of the river, this facility will generate power with turbines suspended in the river. It is similar to the turbines used in generating hydroelectricity from the tides.
