Turtles

Snapping Turtles (Chelydra serpentina) have recently been listed as a Species at Risk by the Government of Canada. While the turtles are protected federally, it is still legal to hunt them in Ontario. The Government of Ontario is proposing to allow the hunting of the turtles in Kawartha Highlands Provincial Park.

Also worth noting is that the fossils of an ancestral turtle have been discovered in China.
