Raoul Island

Raoul Island is located north of New Zealand. Managed by the Department of Conservation (DOC), weeding programs are run there every year. This year a monthly diary has been posted online which chronicles the life of the weeders. Not only is it an interesting and entertaining read, it highlights the important role that conservation volunteers provide in New Zealand. DOC runs many volunteer programs and encourages community involvement in protecting New Zealand's natural and culutral resources.

Please see the Raoul Island diary.
