The Environment Commissioner of Ontario has stated that the current Ontario Endangered Species Act* is not strong enough. The act does not require the Government of Ontario to monitor Species At Risk (SAR). The Commissioner also stated that the government needs to provide increased transparency regarding developments that will impact SAR.
