Global Recognition for the Rideau Canal

The Rideau Canal has received second place in the National Geographic Center for Sustainable Destinations survey for sustainable tourism destinations. The survey examines sites for "environmental and ecological quality, social and cultural integrity, condition of historic buildings and archaeological sites, aesthetic appeal, quality of tourism management, and outlook for the future."1 The results of the survey were published in National Geographic Traveler.
